Trying to identify a Leblanc-Paris flute

Post by saxman12 »

Hi all,

I'm a saxophonist who is interested in taking up the flute. Recently, I've acquired an old Leblanc-Paris (Serial #1259) with open tone holes and an offset G. It has the leblanc-paris diamond engraving on the top of the body tube and bottom of the headjoint, but this is not as ornately engraved as some other leblancs that I've seen.

Does anyone know a little bit about the History of this model? Year of manufacture, quality of the build?

My bigger question, is whether or not it is a worthwhile investment to have this restored, or would it be a better use of money to just go out and get a high-quality student/intermediate flute?

Thanks for any advice!
