Artley 5-0 Open Hole Flute & Piccolo (Set - both sterling silver)

Post by bslattery84 »

I'm in need of assistance, so hopefully I'm in the right place.

My family has come on hard times and sadly I must sell my flute/piccolo set - however - I have no idea what it's worth or the history of it. Also, where is the best place to sell this?

The information that I have is:
Artley 5-0 Sterling Silver Open Hole Flute & Piccolo (both in the same case - accessories included)
Serial# 39 28275 (flute)
Serial# 40 18566

They're both beautiful instruments that play gorgeously even today - however they're in need of a few new pads and a polish. I've always taken good care of them, cleaning them after every use, polishing when necessary but they have been in storage for a bit. I'm incredibly sad to have to sell these but unfortunately paying my mortgage is my top priority right now.

If anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Looking at recent listings on eBay might give you some ideas: Artley Listings on eBay

Amazon has an Artley 5-0 flute for sale for $350. http://www.amazon.com/ARTLEY-OPEN-HOLE- ... B00CNFKQEU
Unfortunately, Artley flutes are not in high demand and that is on the high end of Artley flute prices these days. Being sold through Amazon, I would assume it's in good working order. So, to "ask" that much for it, it would need to be put it tip-top condition. Most Artley flutes on eBay sell for much less than that. You have stated that it needs some pads and cleaning. A Clean, Oil, Adjust (COA) can run from around $100 to $300 or more. This is probably not the news you were hoping for, but selling it (IFit sells) is probably not going to make your mortgage payment.
