popular etudes

Post by Morne »

Hi all ...

I'm just curious ... which etudes are most popular with intermediate to advanced and professional players ?
I'm currently only playing Kohler but all my flutist friends are playing others. Some haven't even heard of Kohler.
I know Andersen is one of the most played.
Thank you
M

There are many different flute etudes. Anderson and Kohler are both popular but each teacher seems to have their preferences. Some others include Moyse, Gariboldi, and others.

Here's a good reference:

Yeah you have Anderson, Kohler, Kuhlau, Moyse, Taff. & Gaub., Gariboldi, DeLorenzo, Kujala, Wye, Morris, Paganini... the list goes on and on and on and on. I personally really like DeLorenzo and Stallman.

Thanks fluteguy18.
Some of those I haven't heard of. I will check with my teacher if he has any of those.
