Flute solo in the Boxer

Post by tiffanyc »

Hi, people. I'm a very out of pratice flute player with a question for anyone who might know or be able to figure out the answer. In Simon & Garfunkel's "The Boxer", there is a flute solo. If my guitar player friends are playing "The Boxer" in the key of D, does anyone know what my first note or two of the flute solo would be? I can play by ear in the sense that I can repeat a melody, but I'm not good enough that I can easily figure out where to start. My flute is at the flute dr. so I don't even have it to fiddle with and I don't have any sheet music to transpose. So does anyone just happen to know this solo and knowwhat thaty Magic answer would be? I apprectae your help and am sorry for this dumb question.

There are two "keys of D." Which one is it? (Major/minor)
