B foot for Trevor James and Pearl flutes

Post by nasxxx »

Since i've got the Pearl repaired now have two flute closed hole TJ cantiable III silver head and a Pearl PF-505 RE open hole.
Both are C flutes. Alot of music I have now uses the low B to which I havn't got a B-Foot joint on either flute, was wondering what the best option to upgrade both flutes with a B Foot are they universal or manufacture specific. Whats everyones thoughts on this and upgrading.

Foot joints are not as universal as headjoints (unfortunately) as I learned the hard way some time ago. The best way to go is contact the manufacturer. However, they are not cheap. From my perspective, I am not sure it would be worth the investment. Believe it or not, you may actually find a complete flute for what you are going to spend on a new foot joint. Used ones are not very common and as I said before, are not necessarily universal in fit.

You could probably get them resized.

When I brought in a headjoint to get sized for my flute they also asked me if the footjoint fit ok
