New to site!
Hi everyone! I'm a male high school senior who has been playing the flute for several years. Just discovered this site today - hopefully I can garner masses of information to improve my playing technique! Looking forward to getting to know you all, etc, and sharing info over the site!

Haha... actually, my screen name has "~" marks around it because I registered with the wrong email address and had to use a working alternative.
I have a Yamaha open-hole flute... not so sure what model it is, but it's covered in silver. I'm actually looking for a good style to play - what would you recommend?
You see, I've had a tutor for several years and played whatever he gave me. Though, I've never been very serious about practicing and subsequently quit about a year ago, only after getting second grade in my tests with the royal schools of music.
Now *having realized the error of my ways* I've decided to get back on track and begin practicing all from the beginning again - this time, seriously practicing. This means starting all over with the head joint, practicing long tones and breathing exercises, going back over my notes, etc. until I get back in shape. Hopefully with the wealth of information available at Fluteland it'll be much easier, no? ^^
