several months ago, i got my flute restored. it played awesome up until a month ago, when i suddenly had difficulties playing the lower notes (from the F to the lowest C). it would just be air, and i would have to blow harder and adjust my embouchere several times. no problems playing F#, though. and when i'd play the lower D and C, it would come out the octave up.
It sounds like your flute has a leak someplace, but the only way to be sure is to get it checked by a technician or at least by another experienced player.
The low D & C speaking in the next higher octave is a pretty good indicator that there is a leak. Since you indicate that F and lower are not playing correctly would point toward a leak in the F or possibly in the G key.
If you press a bit harder on the G and F keys, do the lower notes play correctly?

yeah, when i first got it restored, the tech said there were a couple of leaks which she had to fix. i guess it's the same problem again. i'll have the same tech have a look at it, hopefully she'll comp the repair charge because it wasn't too long ago since it left her hands.
