New picc player needs answers!!

Hey I just got a piccolo for Christmas and I've been practicing my butt off!!! I can't seem to get the really high G and above out. Sometimes I do that pffft noise even on an F!!!!! Is this normal for a beginner such as myself? Please Help!!

Theres an easy way to remedy this. Long tones every day. I've been practicing since Christmas also, and just yesterday, finally hit a high B. Just remember to keep a really tight and controlled embochure. You'll get up there.

Thank you for the advice. I've been playing nonstop for the past week!! When I first started I could hit all of the notes, but not all the time. It's weird. And, when I play the top notes, it's really fuzzy!! It's frustrating!! Thank you again!!

Also, make sure you're blowing more down into the piccolo than across..notes come out much easier and more in tune that way.
