Piccolo high G-->A trill
My picc may not be in the best shape, but I just can't figure out any way to get from high G (two above the staff) to A natural without using the actual fingerings, which won't work for a short trill in a fast piece. I've tried a few alternate fingerings and harmonics, but no luck. Suggestions?
This is a tough one
...on flutes, even, there are only a couple (awkward !!!) fingerings for high G-A trill. Try a web search for woodwind/piccolo fingerings--there's a good site, but I can't remember the address. On some piccs, these have worked for me or my students:
*1-2-3 D#/ Alternate trilling the left-hand first finger with the first trill key (right-hand first finger,
duh)
--OR--
*1-2-3 D#/ Trill G3 key, plus 1st and 2nd trill keys
Good luck!
