Hi,
I've been playing an Yamaha YFL 221 on my spare time for the last 8 years and I am quite fond of it.
But I always loved the sound of the lower registers then the higher ones. So, for the last few years I've been considering buying an Alto Flute. I am just an amateur with not much time to play, so I don't need a pro or even a semi pro flute.
I've been actively searching for a second hand one around here (I live in Barcelona) without much success.
The other day I saw this Thomann Alto flute at their website and got curious about it. It has a good price and comes with both straight and curved heads, but I couldn't find other information on the web about it.
Does anyone know this flute? Is it worth it? How would it compare to other known brands? The flute model is the AFL-300CS.
I am not sure if I can post direct links to the shop, so I won't. But it can be easily found in a Google search.
Any help would be more than welcome!

Re: Thomann Alto Flute
This flute is almost assuredly a Chinese made instrument. Many of the Chinese manufacturers will engrave any name or model number if a quantity of flutes are purchased. The number varies but company. The Thomann music store has simply purchased the required number to get their name placed on it.
Some of the Chinese makers produce pretty good instruments and others not so much. There is no way to assess the quality of this instrument without actually trying it. If you buy it, be sure that Thomann has a liberal return policy that will allow you to return it for a full refund (less shipping charges). You should also consider the details of their warranty...

Thanks, I will take it into consideration.
I've been waiting to buy one for quite some time. I can wait a bit more.
Thanks!
