can you change keys from minor to major
and have it possibly sound good?

minor to major while keeping it sounding well. For instance, you can pick up a
couple of sheets of Joachim Andersen's etudes (Op.33) and his composings switch
from minor to major a lot of times without making the sound unappealing to the
ear.
