Muramatsu flute with Miyazawa head joint

Post by Ktmm »

I'm looking into purchasing an upgrade to my Yamaha flute. I have found a Muramatsu DS with a Miyazawa headjoint. I was wondering if the headjoint being from a different company than the body is something that a lot of folks do. I know people upgrade their headjoints, but I can't remember seeing these two companies together before. Thanks for taking time to answer.

I play a Muramatsu AD which is the predecessor of the DS. I play it with a 14K white gold David Williams headjoint. It's actually fairly common for some to use different headjoints than the brand of flute.
