Why doesn't alto go to a low B?
Why doesn't alto go to a low B (low F#)? I know Kingma at least makes a low B foot for her alto. Does anyone know any other makers who make a low B foot for alto?

It just doesn't come up often in the repertoire, though with contemporary composers paying so much attention to the alto, if it's there, it will get used.
Sankyo and Muramatsu both offer a B foot on their altos. I'm not 100% certain if Altus or Miyazawa would do one on special order, but it might be worth an email. Won't be cheap, though!
