Dont worry too much about this. If you have only been playing a month, then you havent had the time to develop your embouchure that much, and thus it would be more difficult to reach the lower notes.
As for tips for hitting those notes. You need to make your apurture bigger [the hole the air is going through between your lips]. Try blowing downward a bit more. Otherwise, practice is the only way to do it. You will have to strengthen your embouchure, and continue learning breath control [which is probably a huge part of- the problem right now]. Try playing your [currently] lowest note. Play it for as long as you can, and time yourself. Try to get to where you can sustain the note 15 seconds or longer. Once you get there, you will probably have a better chance at hitting the lower notes.
And remember air speed. You still have to keep your air moving quickly. Just because they are lower notes, doesnt mean that they have to have slower moving air. They just need more of it.
Best of luck!

I like to think of the aperture for the lowest register as being a somewhat flattened oval. Not pinched in any way, just... horizontally a bit longer.

Thanks alot guys i will continue to practice.... imagine i'm in medical school and decided to pick up the flute to keep my mind off the whole physiology non-sense..... its great fun actually... i've been doing a few songs by air... with my limited range of learnt notes so far..... which isn't as bad as the piano first was.... should i try practicing for a few minutes everyday?

Re: Thanks
It wouldn't be a bad idea. The more consistently you can practice, the more improvement you'll notice.Nakita wrote:should i try practicing for a few minutes everyday?
