I had a couple of elementary school students who were learning on the little Jupiter Prodigy flutes. And getting a really pretty sound! They were eager to play in church, but I didn't have any super easy hymn arrangements they could play. And I mean
super easy... like, some of those young students didn't even know a full octave of notes yet. So I arranged a couple for them so that they could play in their own churches. They're available from
Formia Press.
Jesus Loves Me -- uses only 5 notes (F, G, A, C, D) from the 1st space F to the 4th line D
Oh, How I Love Jesus -- uses only 5 pitches (G A B C D), from the 2nd line G to the 4th line D
Holy, Holy, Holy -- range is 1 octave, from the first space F to the top line F
I teach my beginners with the Trevor Wye books, hence the focus on those lower notes first.
I know this probably falls under the "blatant ad" category

but I just wanted to post it in case someone else finds it useful. When I have young students who want to play in front of others, I definitely want to encourage that. But I found I had to create a way for these little ones to be able to do that.
If you know of any other REALLY easy hymn arrangements, please post the titles/arrangers here.

I'm always looking for more music! (aren't we all? story of our lives... LOL)
