flute question

Post by 7788 »

hi everyone I'm new to the forum

I just bought a used student flute today; it looked ok but then again I'm not a flautist

I will meet a musician friend who will test it for me (in 3 weeks),
so I still have 60 days to return the item

I'd like to ask if anyone knows what kind of flute I bought? It has the alphabets NK300 on it
Did this flute come from China? I don't see any names anywhere. I'm just curious.

thanks very much

It could be a factory second, that did not measure
up to quality control standards and got sold into
some sort of secondary market that was not
supposed to ever get outside of China or whatever
country it was made in.
I would not wait around for your friend, and try to
return it before the seller absconds with your money.

Over in the "flute history. . ." section, yesterday I was reading the thread on
Di Zhao flutes and there is story where the owner in Texas got a shipment
of product from a Chinese manufacturer he was trying out to make his brand.
He was not happy with them, so he destroyed they. Ok, that's one person
but not everyone has that same degree of integrity and might let them go
as long as they did not have his name on them yet. I'm just saying, why
take a chance on something no one wants to back their reputation on?

edit to add note: Over the last two hours I watched auctions end without
bids on at least five flutes that were asking $75 or less that were playable
and made by respected companies. They were used but not really bad
looking, that I would consider if I did not already have one very similar.
