Warbling tone !

Post by vandoren »

I am still working on embouchure in the lowest register. Often when I seem to be getting a clean solid tone with no breathy sounds, I get a slight warbling. If there is some moisture on the edge of the tone hole, I can get this, but often I get it with a dry headjoint.

Any suggestions ?

It takes time to build up the muscles needed to form an embouchure, and chances are they're just not quite strong enough to produce a sound without a bit of wavering yet. As you continue to build up these muscles, you should notice that your ability to play a straight tone without variances improves.
