Trilling on flute Book

Post by flutepower »

Hey every one,

Does any one know of a book or site on how to vibrate, or actually
trill on flute?
I want to learn how so I can begin to play Chaminade Concertino.
Please, any book will do!

Do you mean playing with vibrato? Or playing a trill? Those are two COMPLETELY different things. Either way, this question is probably indicative that you are probably not ready to play Chaminade yet...

Hey Lula,
Yes, I know I am definitely not ready to play Chaminade Concertino
yet, but I have a copy of the song, and after reviewing it, I made a list
of things I needed to learn in order to play it. One of the items was trilling and playing with vibrato. I do not know the difference of either. Could some one explain both? :?
I do know what they are, but I keep mixing them up entirely!
ANY help is totally welcome!!!

For trills, you can find a chart here
For vibrato, there is a good lesson by Nina online:

Enjoy!

Thank you so much Bo!!!!
That chart is perfect, and I am going to start today on my trills.
That video clip is very good. I am learning how to vibrate, but
I am having a hard time producing that sound from my throat :?.
I know I will get it soon - cause I am getting better every few days.

Um - I believe m3the01 asked for the Chaminade Concertino music?
I actually had mine printed from this site that was kindly given to me
from one of the bloggers on flute-land (I love fluteland message board!!!)
The flute print is rather small, but as I'm not ready to play this song yet, it was good to look at - you can play it. Again, Thank you,

Can you recommend me some pieces please? I have many books, but most are with piano accompaniment, and anyway, I am always curious and excited to learn something new... :D

Thank you!

I am most excited about finding the song "'Ravel Habanera" by M. Ravel.
I was looking for this song for about three months!
I've also found:

1. Idylle by Benjamin Godard
2. Faure Fantasie Op. 79.
3. Melodies of the heart Op. 5 by Edward Grieg (You need a piano accomplishment for this one)
They are all just lovely pieces!!! :P

Another really pretty piece is The Flower Duet, which I play with my friend.
We've began it last month and have just perfected it yesterday. It really sounds so nice, and can be found on flutetunes.com.
