Are there any reccomended ways to clean the surface of a flute that is hard to reach because the key system interferes? My flute is a 1990 Armstrong 104 that's in wonderful shape everywhere except in the are that I described. I want to make sure that there are no future problems with the mechanism due to oxidation or the buildup of grime. Is there anything I can do, or will I just have to live wiht it?
The only thing I can suggest is that you ask if the tech that is doing your annual COA polish the flute. It might cost a little extra. You are having your flute cleaned and adjusted at least once a year aren't you?
Is it a place you can reach with a cotton swab? Watch out for forcing anything into small areas and bending the key mechanisms but I use them to clean in some small areas that I can't reach with a wiping rag.

I can get some areas with this, but others just can't be reached. I don't really care about this flute, though.
