Hi, I'm considering buying a new flute and was wondering if anyone has any views on inline G or offset G and if it makes any difference to playing or if its just more comfortable if you have small hands.
Any opinions appreciated
Generally speaking, large hands may find inline more comfortable and small hands often find offset more comfortable. Try both and buy whichever is more comfortable to you.

PP has it right on the money. Buy what is most comfortable for you. The trend now-a-days is going toward offset in light of performance related hand injuries, but it is only that. A trend. The trend for a long time was inline. But again, it was a trend. One is not necessarily better than the other. Acoustically they're the same.
I personally play an offset and I love it. I know people who have inline and love theirs.
My teacher commented the other day that she can't even sell her old inline G because no one in our city uses them. Interesting how these things are different in different geographical areas.
