Pockocmoc, introducing myself.

Post by Pockocmoc »

Hello everyone.

I'm French (my english is not perfect, sorry for that!).
I have played the flute for 12 years now, and I only ever had my good old Yamaha 281 (yeah I know... time to look for something better  ).

I started on my 6th school grade. During my first 4 years, I almost only played Jazz (my school was a music-oriented school), for around 12-15hours of orchestra/bigband/private lessons per week, all around jazz and improvisation. What an entertaining experience :) it was ! I'm glad this helped me getting used to play without a score.
Anyway, since that, I played with bands, wich is (I think) an excellent progession booster, and also alone recently.

I used to play mostly jazz, but some harmony classics too, from Bach to the flight of the bblbee, lot of Haendel sonatas, ...
I'm actually working hard on Andersen's Etude in G Major No 3 op 15, that I fortunately discovered on Youtube last week. lovely !

I found this forum because I was looking for some advices of any kind, to improve my tone, and practice more eficiently... wich I actually found!

I am saving up to purchase a pro flute, something serious... and my heart definitely goes to a wooden (grenadilla) flute. It's my dream since I started flute (one of my teachers had one!).

Hope to share a lot with you guys and girls.

See you,
Pock'

Don't worry about your English, you posted just fine!

Looking forward to how you progress in your studies, and esp in your search for a new/er better flute.

Welcome the the Land!
