Market value of Super Artist sterling silver flute
Would someone please help me by telling me what is the market value of a sterling silver Super Artist flute? Or where to search to find out? It was purchased in the late 70's. Is complete and in a solid lined hard shell case.

Considering that the name is not well known and its age... It probably hasn't been regularly played or serviced either... I would be willing to bet you could probably get more money selling it for scrap silver than as a flute honestly. Even well known brands that are an intermediate level from that time period aren't worth much. Usually only Powell, Haynes, or early Muramatsus from that era (or earlier) can get any more than $3k and they have to be in really great shape. I would probably take it to a pawn shop and see what they'll give you.

Check on usedflutes.com. There was one Artley Super Artist that sold there a few years ago for around $170. That was the asking price, but that site does not show actual selling prices, so it may have sold for less than the asking price.
