off set G question

Post by tag0620 »

Do you prefer the off line or in line G option?

I'm looking at Armstrong 80B's and found a dealer that has both options still available on this open hole model.

I have been playing an Armstrong student model (closed hole in line G) and am picking the instrument back up and looking to use it alot in church and around the holidays in a resort town.

Any opinions or advice would be helpful...Thanks!

I just got the Armstrong 80B-EOS (offline G and split E mech)

The split E is new for me....so I'll see how it goes.

Other than that...just very excited!

Congrats! I have really liked the 80B's that I have tried and have one student who owns one (with great results). Let us know how you like it!

As for inline vs offset, like so many other things in the flute world, it depends on the player. I have heard very legit reasons for both. One thing to consider is the fact that there is no sound difference between the two.
