So, I found this beautiful piece of music not so long ago while on youtube listening to other pieces. I went on a journey to find the sheet music and came up short. I looked everywhere possible for it... eBay, google, etc. The only thing I found was on Amazon Japan and it was a whole collection of songs. Does anyone know where I could possibly find it?

Buying the book from Amazon Japan is the only way to get this piece of music. It was out of print prior to being included in the book. I bought the book from Amazon Japan earlier this year, just to get Earth. The book is around $40 US, and the shipping is about another $40. It was expensive but worth it, and the book does have a lot of other music in it.

Congratulations for getting the score.
It is close to impossible to navigate the japanese site, I should be so grateful if you would provide the link here for those of us who are absolutely (quite desperate) to get our hands onto the piece.
TQ. For me with shipping would come up to $40 + $40 = $80 as well. Bit rich for just one piece of music. I wonder why the shipping has to be so expensive.

I'm wanting that piece too... I tried to find the link once, but think I need to find a Japanese friend to navigate it for me. Google translate just didn't cut it...

Try this site. It may be a bit more friendly. It seems to be the japanese equivalent of ebay. I will probably buy it when I have the money.

Has anyone found a really good recording of this? The ones on youtube are pretty bad quality.

If anyone has this piece digitally please please could you send it to me?

Thanks for the link. Have had it partly transcribed at snail like speed. Project temporarily abandoned, will post when I finish but there may be errors (timing etc as I'm a hopeless rubato)

The Syrinx was one of my early favourites!!! But I'm "stuck" at the triple tonguing section (if that's what you call it)
How is your Earth going evrmre? No wonder you wanted an EX to play it. Mura squared.
Just curious, how many pages does the flute section come in - is there a foldout for just flute score?

It's coming along. Has forced me to upskill some (reason I decided to play it), and I still want the EX . Steadily working through it as my abilities allow, though it may take a little to get the expressiveness of the piece down.

The music comes as a book (complete score), and a booklet inside with the flute parts written separately (makes sense, as it's all piano/flute duets). No recordings, sadly, as I learn best by ear rather than by reading the music, but have found a couple of low quality recordings that at least show how it both is and isn't meant to be played.

Great! I get my inspiration watching it on YouTube. Just search for Earth & Muramatsu (my favourite version)! The flutist uses a sublime Nagahara.
Bit rich to get the entire bk for just one song. I shall practice transcribing, pick up where I left off a year ago.
