Non classical flute - suggestion

Hi everybody!
Sorry to see this forum quite deserted, but I hope there's still someone hanging out here!
I'm a spare time sax player, and I'm looking forward to learning flute ASAP Will get one in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to practice!!!

To quench my thirst from flute, I'd love to listen to some tunes; I could find in this forum many good classical and jazz tips, but I was also looking for something else.

I'm thinking about flute use in rock. In 70s prog there's a lot of flute, see Jethro Tull, and I've also found a more recent band, Midlake, that heavily uses flute in their compositions.

Does anyone has a good tip for me?

FYI - The flutist in Jethro Tull is Ian Anderson.

Check YouTube for recordings from these. Here's a few players that come to mind.
Peter Gabriel played flute on a tune or two from Genesis and sat in with a few others.
Ray Thomas who played flute some with Moody Blues.
Jerry Eubanks and David Muse with The Marshall Tucker Band
