flutepicc06, Thanks for the tip about the C-D trill using the C# trill and first trill key. Will have to try that out when I get my flute back. Yep, have to agree that adding the C# trill (and Split E) in 1998 was a good investment. I don't know why I didn't think of the D# roller too. I still need ...

So my orchestra conductor gets to hear me on my 3 KSB Gemeinhardt(normally my camping flute) for the next 3 weeks ... Wouldn't it funny if he thought I sounded better on it than my Haynes ... LOL Reminds me of the day my new Powell came in the mail, and I test played that and my beat up Yamaha 925 ...

The following are my flute family instruments: 1 - Wm. S. Haynes - open hole, inline G, soldered tone holes, B-foot, thinwall .014", purchased/made in 1972. C# Trill and Split-E were added in 1998. Just recently purchased a David Williams 14K headjoint with 14K PE (Platinum Enhanced) riser which I l...

Most jewelry cleaners sold to consumers is just liquid detergent with a little dye added to make it pink. Some formulations do have ammonia in it to help cut the grease (which tends to stick to diamonds). Liquid dishwashing soap does the same thing (that is what I use on my diamonds all the time). H...

Thanks all for your sage advice. I decided to go with the Williams. But as fluteguy18 said, I just hope I made the correct decision. The Sheridan and Williams were very close and either of them would have been fine. The finish on the Sheridan was actually better (it had a mirror finish inside the bo...

Please help me pick a headjoint
I have three 14K headjoints in the house to try for the next 4 days. Have eliminated the Goosman. That leaves the Dana Sheridan and the David Williams. They sound almost the same to me (much better and louder than the headjoint that came with my thinwall (.014") Haynes flute that I purchased back in...

Other Flute Forums/Message Boards
Hi,
I am new here (my first post)
Does anyone know of other flute forums/message boards?
I tried to use Larry Krantz's pages but find the Listserv troublesome to work with.
