Re: qs music grenadilla headjoint(herbert neureiter)
It seems that no one here has played or even heard of this headjoint, so you probably will not get any opinions. There is another problem with answering your question. When playing the flute, a portion of the sound is attributable to the headjoint but the rest is attributable to the individual pers...

Re: Louis Lot copies and clones
Really beautiful peaces!
Just to add my bit, the really good L.Lot copies have soldered tubes as the original used to be made.
A good example (and quite expensive) is the Altus.

Dear Manuel,
It's nearly impossible to give you such an advise. There is only one way to actually make a choice, test playing both and feeling which one should be your winner. By the way, why not experiment others?

Re: Do synthetic headjoint plug stoppers REALLY WORK BETTER?
I have a Biggio's crown and stopper made of zirconium (metal) in my original Sankyo gold headjoint. It really delivers a bit more resonance. I tested over and over comparing with the original cork and screw configuration. I don't know if you classify this one as "synthetic", but anyway... No, a cork...

Polisher: What about Wenol? I was told to get the "just" silver one as others might be too abrasive. Actually, I don't know this one Hammer, Mandrels & Roller: Did you purchase JL Smith's. By roller did you mean burnisher? I have a Hammer from JL. Mandrels and Rollers from Ferree's. And I just boug...

Re: Repair of nicks and dents - photo attached
Hello Zevang Thank you for replying. :) Welcome :-) This flute is at least 10-12yo and is plated. I would guess quite a lot of silver may have been polished off already. So polishing is ok but bufffing is not? :?: I do not want to expose the metal underneath (nickel silver). What is ok wh...

Of course, fix it!
A complete polishing after dent removal will do the job properly.
I think it is well worth.

Re: Silver Brannen Body versus Gold Brannen Body
Let's correct something here. The tone you can get is a consequence of the headjoint not the body. What makes you sound this or that way mostly is a result of the design and material of the riser and a bit less of the headjoint tube. Now, if you want a body that will not tarnish (eventually will, bu...
