If you bought it from ebay you should firstly arrange a good tech revision for your piccolo, before you can state whether it's a problem with your playing or with the instrument.

I just wanted to follow up on this story. When I first saw Zevang's post, I forwarded it to Altus/Azumi to see if anything could be done to help this young man. They were able to get in touch with him and he sent an email. I am pleased to announce that we replaced his flute so that he may continue....

fluteguy is right ;-) Just to clarify a little bit more, both models have all silver headjoints. The difference, indeed, is only the tube of the body, that's what I think fluteguy meant. Try the Suite Antique by John Rutter. It has six movements and at least two of them (Chanson and Aria) are not terribly difficult. It's on the Distant Land recording.
