Thanks! Is the book of wedding music for more than one flute, or is there a piano line that can be played by a 2nd or 3rd flute?

Music suggestions for flute duets, trios, and quartets

Can anybody give me suggestions of flute music to play at wedding ceremonies and receptions, please. This will be for flute duets, trios, and quartets.

Thanks!

Phineas, I completely agree with you. After sending the last reply, I thought about the topic in particular and realized that you weren't stating the young players were bad, only that they shouldn't be "pumped up" to think they were better than they actually are! I too think that it would be ...

Student Can't Play in Tune

I hope some of you can help me! I have a student who has been playing 2 years now. She is developing nicely technique-wise, but she can't play in tune to save her life. It is not the flute -- I checked and can play the instrument in tune easily -- but when she tries, she goes wildly back and forth f...

Perhaps the little girl's performance wouldn't be considered outstanding as an adult, but as a 7 year old I was amazed! The flute looked bigger than she is! I was also impressed with her composure at performing pieces of music of that stature -- there is no way I could perform those in front of anyb...

Is that true? I didn't know that! No wonder they are so good so young, but wow, what a horrid way to raise a kid .....

This subject got my attention. I recently found out that the junior high band director (my niece is in his class) is having his 8th grade students learn "vibrato" so that they will be ready for high school next year. This really bugs me since most of these flute students still don't know how to play...

I wrote a bit about it in a new post entitled "Orpheo Composite Flute" (I think that is the title ....), but basically I said that it's an OK flute, but not one I would consider my #1. It does have the basic tone of a wooden flute, sounds kinda like a tenor recorder; however, drawbacks I noticed are...

I agree with this, also! I got a thumbport about a week ago (gadgets, again ...) and agree that it makes a BIG difference in terms of hand/arm pain. I'm still kinda figuring out the best placement of it, but not going to do without in the future. I also noticed that, in addiiton to the improved hand...

Update on the Orpheo, if anybody's interested ..... I believe my original impression is holding up; i.e., I like the flute overall, but would not put it as my top choice. I'm enjoying playing it with the chamber orchestra on the renaissance music, as it gives a tenor recorder kind of sound, adds a l...

How do you tell if the foot joint keys are out of position? I'm veeeery interested in this post 'cause I have all kinds of problems with the low C on my Yamaha. I got it last September -- should I take it in and ask them to look it over to see if there is a mechanical reason? Thanks again for any he...

Yes, that is the model. It doesn't appear to have an inline version.

Orpheo Composite Flute

Phineas asked me to let y'all know what I thought about a new flute I ordered -- the Orpheo Composite. It came in yesterday and I stayed up 'til midnight playing with it. The advertisement was right on about the flute sounding like a wooden flute -- it has a bit of a "buzz" to it, if that makes sens...

Thank you all very much for the info. I decided to go the safe route and took it to a recommended repair-person to help me. Lo and behold, he did have the right tool for the job and had it out in less than a minute! The reason I took the cork out is because I was trying a new headcork that I saw, ad...
