
Tone

try doing long tones.
start at the 2nd octave A, hold for 2 counts, then slur down to G sharp, and hold as long as you can. Experiment with this until your tone is perfect. Then, do the same thing, but start with G sharp, then slur to G, and so on down to C (or B if you have a B-foot)
Then, start at 2nd octave A again, but this time, go upwards (A to A sharp/B flat, then B flat to B, etc)
In a few days, your tone should be doing much better.
