I just saw this and am amazed that any flute could make such a low sound. I'm not sure how useful this instrument is as there are much nicer bass instruments around. However, maybe it could add something to a flute choir.

What do you think?

Pretty interesting! Although... the description lies. The lowest and largest flute in the world is a Hyper Bass flute. It is 4 octaves below the concert flute, is about 15 meters long (I think), and the lowest notes are on the border of human hearing.

There's only one in the entire world.

And pardon my crude humor, but I'm dying to compose a piece for Hyper Bass flute called "Enema Variations."

The title was from a Freudian slip that a conductor of mine once made when announcing that we were about to perform Nimrod from ENIGMA variations.

I haven't gotten the idea of Enema variations out of my head ever since.

Lots of pedal tones.
Cool

Not to mention that on a hyper bass, all that plumbing could serve a dual purpose.
