A poster from some time ago claimed to own a purple flute that he/she bought off of ebay.

most band directors will not allow you to use them because of their quality though.

Many repair shops won't work on them, either, because they can't guarantee their work. The repairs won't stick, no matter what, because the parts are so shabby. So, buy at your own risk. :?
