I have a hard time in places that absorb sound, I often think I'm not getting the full tone that I know I can produce. ...

Circular breathing to me is just usless. My band director sees it as a party gimmick or something like that... only useful if you want to impress people by saying "I can hold a note out FOREVER!!"

Hmm, well thanks for the advice.

Metal V.s Wood Piccs

Which is best for what?

I intend on playing a few peices on piccolo next year, and I really like metal piccs because of how they feel and it's easier for me to get a good sound out of. Wooden ones tend to be a bit harder for me. :/

Next year we're doing Cirque Du Solie: Quidam.

My high school has a drum corps... so there's a lot of transposing to do. \

lol, this is a rather funny topic. There are several ways to put it... at least in my school Band Geek: Normal Band Student who is just an avverage band member. Band Nerd: someone who is in band but every class he/she has is honors or AP Band Whore (or Music Whore): someone who does nothing BUT band...

Instead of bringing our corners out, like smiling, bring them in

That's what my private teacher basically told me when I first started with her in January.
