Does many flute tech service high-E facilitator installation? How much would that cost around? And does it improve the sound of the flute a lot in comparison to the Split E?

Split E vs. High-E Facilitator

I was wondering about the differences between the two.

I might be getting an inline G flute and was planning on getting a tech to insert the High-E facilitator if E3 is a problematic note on the flute.

Thanks!

A little bit of theory behind the minor scales helps. My director's going through the minors with us in class and this is what he told us: To find a major scale's relative minor (relative minor, though there's a difference between the two that he didn't feel he need to get too specific with), it's t...

Thanks for all of the advice. :] I'm gonna try to bring my flute in for a checkup this weekend and hopefully it won't need to stay in the shop for too long if it needs repair. auwon: Are you sure the auditions are April? The site says March. o_o I'm really nervous, too, because I heard the music dep...

Hi again! I've kind of gotten stuck with a little bit of a problem and I don't really know what to do. I currently play on a Gemeinhardt 3SB that I've had since freshman year, but I don't feel like it's helping me become any better a musician. In fact, I feel like it's making me worse and it's reall...

Is it the 17 Big Daily Exercise book? Larry Krantz has a nice page on how to practice it: http://www.larrykrantz.com/taffanel.htm

The real race for valedictorian doesn't really start heating up until junior year where you're hit with higher level classes (especially English AP/IB classes which can be a nightmare), and if sophomore year is bogging you down with academics, junior year will prove to be one of the most enduring ye...

Mozart's Concerto in G is the piece I'm most comfortable with, but would I have to take a section of it since the audition is limited to 10 minutes?

I haven't played any Andersen studies in over a year, but I played through a few and I'm sure I can clean one up before the audition.

Anderson Op.41 or Op.33?

I've played a few of them in both books a while ago, so I have to look through them to see which one sounds good to audition with. ^^;

Hey, I was in the same situation you were in during my freshman thru junior years, but the oboe player was my assistant section leader! Fun times! ^^ For warm-ups, I had them do it the same everytime so that it stuck with them and they'd always know how to warm-up to the point where it became second...

Standard Solo/Etude Repertoire?

I'm auditioning for a college in a few weeks and they're asking for two pieces from Standard Solo Repertoire or one from Standard Solo and one from Standard Etude Repertoire, but I have no idea what pieces they have. I emailed the Coordinator of Woodwind studies at the university, but s/he said that...

I have tension in my whole left arm after playing a while when I stand up. I don't think I have bad posture, but it's probably cuz I'm not used to holding it at an angle after holding it parallel for months during marching band/field show season.
