Re: Baffled by keys "bindings"

Back to the surgical table. ================ A few posts back I said I would keep flushing the RHmechanism of the bound keys to flush out the rusts for a week to ensure the binding does not recur. Well I didn't get to do that and found the keys relapsing (thankfully not fully) - hence I'm back flush...

Re: Holidays

Wishing everyone a wonderful festive & restive season.
Good to hear from you Zevang. You must have been very busy in concert halls, at the workshop or on your Naga.

Finetuning for Optimal Play

The usual flutesages (suspects), maestros & monsieurs... Student (yeehaw) model with Split E ====================== Dear Sirs One of my flutes is missing that magic. Found it to be sluggish jumping from B to G - there seem to be a split second delay before the G reluctantly sounds (akin a hoarse thr...

Re: Baffled by keys "bindings"

Hey Steve. Do you use a music industry proprietary system (db) to store your records or did you create one yourself?

Re: Sticky noises on my flute pad

However, I make sure that my flute is dry and that every pad was cleaned with cigarete paper whenever I put it into her case. Maybe what you pointed out is giving an important clue about the nature of this annoying sound. If you are using cigarette paper on the pads, you are probably slowly ruining...

Re: Flute sellers in Europe

Hi, Just to add, I purchased my first flute from http://www.justflutes.com last week, and they provided a very good service. I'll definitely be using them again. They are based near London, Uk. Agreed. I called them several times and almost purchased an Altus headjoint from them but for budgetary p...

Re: Baffled by keys "bindings"

I dont like to be disparaging, but realistically the only real repair is to pull it apart find the problem and re-assemble. Everything your doing is really just a patch up. I highly suspect you have a bent inner rod (why do you say that? logic), so no matter how much flushing you do, it w...

Joe - I believe flutego12 is in located in Australia. Last I knew, toll free numbers aren't valid for international callers. Plus there's a big time difference - That's why he's emailing... flutego12 - Ferrees replied to my email in about 2 hours. Send your emails to ferreestools@aol.com. Here was ...

Re: Baffled by keys "bindings"

Well, keep in mind that I'm still learning so the other techs here might have some other solutions, but what I use is Corrosion Cracker Penetrating Oil which is made by Ferree's Tools. It's bright orange in color and has a distinctive smell. You have to let it sit for at least 1-24 hours before res...
