Re: Headjoint on Yamaha 221?
Hey guys I just want to ask if anyone has done this before and what happened, or if you guys have any advice on doing this? I'm pretty experienced (Grade 8) but I've been using this flute all my life, and Im wondering if a new headjoint would be worth the money (I don't want to spend over 250USD on...

Re: Jupiter is winning me over... some Qs
I find the jupiters do not stand up very well plating wise here in Australia, 3-5 yrs and they look dead and brown Hey Steve, greetings from the east coast. I 'm not sure about dead and brown but they sure look like they scraped and wore more easily - the silver plating specification perhaps. I d l...

Re: Jupiter is winning me over... some Qs
Headjoints, The cut is the same, basic student cut. Two different materials, The silver tube is thinner than the plated tube so it will appear to be smaller, and it is for that barrel. But you can size it easily. If you bought it used, sounds like whoever had it before you, did less than a stellar ...

Jupiter is winning me over... some Qs
A look over Jupiters ... its key mechanism and durability relative to Yamaha counterparts? [Key mechanism/ plating versus Yamaha's] Have just got my hands onto a couple of student Jupes (probably belatedly) - have heard so much about the tone and I am bowled over - namely by the recent 511SEs. (2010...

Hi Zevang.
I've just been out of hibernation and saw your message.
Have you sourced one yet for the poor flutist?

Is the "premium" paid for quality headcork worth the $$$?
Though minimal in absolute terms, significant nevertheless in percentage terms, is the hefty premium paid for "premium quality" headcorks worth the $$s? What difference does it make? What are the benefits for using a premium headcork? in terms of ... 1) quality of tone and responsiveness of headjoin...

Re: Finetuning for Optimal Play
Everything was great so we checked every single pad by taking it out and lifting the skin to inspect with an eye loupe. Wow, that's WAYYYY too much work. Why don't you just use a pad skin checker for the Mag? It's a hundred times faster. You'd have your leak answer in about 10 seconds after taking ...

Re: Opinion Sought - PEARL Flute PF665E Dolce & Headjoint
Thank you for your input Phineas and JoeButky. I hear you... you really miss your missing Pearl, don't you - such a travesty of justice when it walks :| From your comments it would appear that there are huge inconsistencies in the seller claims. eg 665 but dolce 665 and made in Japan vivo cut :!:
