Flutepower, we don't own it I just rented it from the library cause I know she was not going to need it for long. I basically re taught myself how to play using it and then taught her to play from what I learned from it. It was a great book, my daughter knew a lot before she even started band cause ...

I asked my daughter and she said she was first chair in the concert that night that her instructor put her there for that concert but she may not be there for the next concert. She said they switch off and on but she was not sure if that was because of her playing or just cause the instructor wants ...

Ok thank you, she is not really ready for a new flute just yet probably next year but I was wondering cause I thought it would be cheaper than buying a whole new flute. C foot vs B foot
I was wondering if you can put a B foot on a C foot flute. I am looking for a new flute for my daughter and wanted to just go up to the intermediate flute since she will need it soon. But then I got to thinking can I just buy a B foot to put on her C foot flute?
Thanks

I would suggest you go to your library, I did and found a great book for my daughter which taught her all the fingerings and even had music to play in it. Try "How to play the flute, everything you need to know" by Howard Harrison or Flute for Dummies. Just see what your library has and take a look ...

Chair Positions
My ex husband and I are not sure but we think our daughter is in first chair in her 5th grade band. Can someone please tell me where 1st chair is located in the band? Is it on the outside of the 1/2 circle then the rest of the players are inward or is it closest to her teacher then they go out from ...

Cleaning Cloth
I had a question about what I can use as an inside of the flute cleaning cloth. I have 2 flutes but only 1 rod and cloth. I heard it was a good idea to have an extra spit cloth so that 1 could dry and the other can be used. I am wondering the craft stores around here sell square cotton cloths can I ...
